Hongtao Zhang, the State Council Counselor and the Chief Engineer of Ministry of Land and Resources will give his speech— “New resources in the Post-petroleum Era— the Strategic Significance of Methane Clathrate” in the Summit.
He has lectured on “International Situation and China’s Strategy concerning Energy and Resources” in the 23rd Collective Learning of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee which the CPC Central Committee General Secretary Hu Jintao addressed.
Mr. Hongtao Zhang is the State Council Special Subsidy Winner, the Doctorial Tutor of China University of Geosciences, the Part-time Professor of Nanjing University, Chang’an University and Ocean University of China and has been engaging in the research of areal geology, ore deposit formation, geochemistry of mineral deposits, marine geology, economic geology, etc. He took part in planning, organizing and implementing the New Round of the Survey for the Land and Resources and gained more than ten National and Provincial or Ministerial Advanced Science and Technology Awards。 ( Translated by Yi Ji)
